Politics brought us together, of all the things. Now over five years later, we chuckle about how we passionately fought against the instillation of school wide paper towel dispensaries when we both served our college student government in our youth. Or how we would roll our eyes at each other from across the classroom during 3 hour seminar classes. Yet for all of our lofty ideas of world peace and equitable justice that kept us ranting till the wee hours of morning, we truly bonded over our mutual love for food, fermented beverages, and travel. In an interesting way, (at least to us), our relationship for food has evolved and developed. Over the years, we have been influenced by each of our independent inquiries into nutrition, our world wanderings and discoveries, and the practice we have acquired from time spent cooking delicious food for loved ones.
These days we find ourselves serendipitously living in the same place once again. We have big city aspirations living in New York, but our meager salaries hinder many of our foodie desires to wine and dine on a daily basis. However, with our culinary gifts and combined cleverness, we are determined to eat delicious, nutritious, energizing, and soul satisfying food by cooking affordably and sustainably. We hope to share with you our love for wholesome food that feeds your body, mind, and soul. Because when it comes down it, the true reason we love food so much is our ability to share the experience with someone we love.
